  41. Job Description.
  42. To design, implement and test advanced 2-D image processing techniques in 
  43. pattern recognition and classification. Includes using "state-of-the-art" 
  44. compression technology to minimize data storage and image enhancement  for 
  45. optimum image representation. Po
  46. rting final algorithms into accelerator hardware. Also includes developing new 
  47. tools and improving existing tools for evaluation and testing purposes. Will 
  48. be exposed to multi-disciplinary technology including optics, mechanics, and 
  49. neural networks.

  51. Required Qualifications
  52. BS or MS. Computer Science or Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  53. Proven track record with successful "real world" image processing 
  54. applications.
  55. Proficiency with binary and grayscale morphological image processing 
  56. techniques.
  57. Familiarity with JPEG, Wavelet and Fractal image compression.
  58. 2-D effects, re-mapping and resizing to different resolutions.
  59. Good verbal and written communication skills.
  60. At least 3 years experience with C/C++ programming languages.
  61. Familiarity with some special purpose image processing hardware systems.
  62. Strong Mathematical and Statistical aptitude.
  63. Familiarity with DOS, WINDOWS and UNIX environments.
